Renovation | Architectural Build
Architect: Stewart Harris - McIntosh Harris

The owners purchased this 5-bedroom property in 2011 after going through the property and seeing huge potential for a major renovation. They lived in the property for a while to get a feel for it and what it needed to make it the outstanding property it is today.

They sought professional advice from interior designer Stewart Harris from MacIntosh Harris in Auckland who spent some time going through room by room specifying the interior fit-out, curtains in detail. Stewart Harris excelled himself on this property and as they say the proof is in the end result.

Project details

Two sliding glass French doors were installed in the kitchen to open up the space. Finished in a dark timber veneer, silver Travertine veined honed bench top and waterfall ends the kitchen is simply stunning. They used Caesar stone to the hob bench and pantry area. A special feature is that the island sink is seamlessly made from the same Silver Travertine veined honed stone with a stunning tap. Again, bronzed toughened mirror was added to back of the kitchen as a splash back which added to the architectural flair of this property. Lighting also played a huge part in this area which looks stunning at night. Gaggenau appliances have been installed including a steam oven so the kitchen is fit for a chef. A beautiful Henge feature light hangs over the dining room table. No expense was spared in this area.

More Details

The upstairs private master bedroom is large and spacious, including a full-width leather headboard, feature lighting and beautiful David Shaw furniture to make up the room. Wallpaper has been added to this area which really finishes it off to a standard a cut above.

The walk-in robe was extended into the roof space to make it larger than it originally was. This again has been fitted out with dark veneer timber joinery with excellent feature lighting and complements the whole of the upstairs private master bedroom area.

The landscaping involved retiling the whole of the courtyard area and around the pool with a natural colour tile. The gardens were defined with cortex garden edging then new planting added to existing. Copper fire bowls were installed to the court yard and a fire pit to the pool area which really gives this property impact at night and warmth for the guests.
